As a concerned wife, I must remind you Jeff of the hundreds of thousands of Americans that suffer chronic pain. Chronic pain diminishes quality of life. Finding a Dr in Louisiana that is willing to prescribe pain medication is extremely hard. These patients deserve to live a life without pain or with diminished pain. Chronic pain causes most to have depression. I have watched my husband suffer greatly fot the last 30 years. Chronic pain sufferers should not be lumped into this opioid crisis, but rather be treated for their pain with respect by their physicians, and the government should stay out of it.

I am a disabled Vietnam vet...was injured in 76 at sea. I have alot of lower back issues and documented under the VA. My issue is I am a medical marijuana user. The VA allows usage if purchased thru state approved distributors. It IS NOT ADDICTIVE...but opioids (Norco, etc) is....but I am on fixed income and cannot afford the 250$ price to obtain my perscription of marijuana to eliviate pain...so therefore I am forced to take opioids....which is openly given..or I could go buy a fifth of whiskey and loose everything but I would be a drunk again...

I am an educated woman and have lived through the horrors personally thru this crisis. MY only sister, rehab twice. My ex-husband was addicted, cost our marriage, everything we owned and all our money. I have currently a spine that is totally encased in screws, rods, metal. i have arthritis, bursitis, shoulder surgery, (2) back surgeries/ (2) neck surgeries now 4 months out. I have lived with horrible pain. I trusted pain clinics to help me. There is no medicine to find around here in this city. It plunged me 20 yrs in, into total withdrawal, oh they could offer me something to help, but 6 days in, why would I want to search the city and find yet another medicine to get addicted to. My teeth have been ruined thru this process as from gritting and chipping them thru the pain. I might not be able to help this cause financially, but i will fight this cause any other way possible. There has to be a solution as to helping those that suffer/ and not getting a body so addicted to and take away. I was informed that my medicine would be ready next Wednesday, Ha, really after unbearable suffering for over a week, I don"t think so. Something must be resolved in this issue immediately!!!!!
